Phone: logoff instructions

If you are going to be away from your desk for an extended period of time, you may want to log off your extension. This gives callers the courtesy of not hearing 3-6 rings before being transferred to your voicemail. An added courtesy is that your office mate won't hear your phone ringing all day long.

To log off your extension:
  1. Press the check mark (options)
  2. Press the right arrow (page right)
  3. Press the button that selects the text Log off
  4. Select yes. (2 audio tones will sound to confirm)
To log back on the screen will first ask you for your extension and the enter function is the pound (#) key. The next screen will ask you for your extension password, which is an 8 digit number (4 pw #s plus your 4 digit extension).

To log on:
  1. 4 digit extension
  2. #
  3. 8 digit password
  4. #
If you have any questions regarding these procedures, please ask Kara - she logs her phone off multiple times throughout the day.

New voicemail password - ext. 4325

The voicemail box for extension 4325 has a new password. It has changed from our zip code 30260 to the same format for extensions 4345 & 4346. Please refer to the document on the Z: drive for password information. Z:\Circulation\Public Services\phone_ext_pw_logoff.doc

Dollar bill crisis

FYI: The Bursar's Office is out of $1.00 bills until after Thursday, 11/13/08, afternoon. Once the 20 I picked up this afternoon are gone, we will be out. The Bursar's Office staff suggested we go to the bank ourselves if we run out before the change delivery arrives on Thursday.

Fall Desk changes

Some changes when working reference…

1) Starting in the fall, the lobby doors and the outside entrance will be locked at 10pm when the librarian leaves to help the student maintain the gates and secure the building. Please assist the student in locking the doors before you leave for the evening.
2) We are no longer giving out password cards. All patrons will be required to access passwords through the GIL system. There is a link from the main page on how to do this under News and Events. Here is the direct link http://adminservices.clayton.edu/library/GALILEO_password.pdf
3) The new statistics sheet is pretty easy to follow… there is now a section for desk, telephone, and chat. Remember to put the mark in the medium that they used.
4) There will be a student schedule posted in the circ office and on the circ desk by Tuesday so you know who will be working when.
5) Students will be added to the emergency phone tree list so you have easy access to their numbers if you need them when you work evenings and weekends. This will be posted in the cabinets in the Circ office.
6) We are running meebo on the second computer. We will be letting the CSU1022 students know about the service in Sept. Be sure to check the sound for your shift so you can here the ding.

If you have any questions about these changes please let me know.
